How terrible it would if I couldn't hear,
the sounds of the earth and its bounty
the welcome wonderful children's voices in their laughter, free, clear!
Ringing out , catching, capturing the attention, in spite of the clamor of
superficial machines man has made.
Their beauty, the sincerity, the realness,
the joy of youth, in its pure innocence without the show of chrades.
How can we arrogantly march off past and leave, forsake this pure form of living:
and purposely, calculatingly manufacture for ourselves, superfeciality? Veneers
of pompuosity, shallow as the shadow
of sincerity; the end to be distress of mind, depression of heart, as a dirge to
earnestness the pretense of affection and care, to drain all of faculty's
resources; an empty shell its fruits, burned out wilderness its environment.
Nothing really gives; the gain??? Strive for good, sacrifice for sincerity of
purpose; live for real moral, ethical spiritual love and physical love will be in
that form of work.

AS MY MIND COLLECTS MYRIAD IMAGES
AS MY MIND COLLECTS MYRIAD IMAGES,
FLEETING THOUGHTS AND DISCARDS
THEM WITH UNCONSCIOUS EASE.
ONE PERSISTENT, GHOSTLY, UNIDENTIFIABLE
UNDULATING SHADOW,
KEEPS RE-APPEARING, PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK,
FILLING ME WITH VAGUE UNEASE.
IS IT THE MEMORY OF THE RISING SUN
CHASING THE SHADOWS OUT ACROSS
THE DEWEY MEADOW GREEN,
THAT IS PROMPTIMG ME TO BELIEVE AND
SEEK, AN ETERNAL POWER, CONSISTENT, UNSEEN.
AS I LIGHT THIS SMALL CANDLE SO
LIFELESS, INSIGNIFICANT AND SLIGHT-
UTTER SILENCE, PITCH BLACK, DARKNESS
CAN'T STIFLE, AND FLEES FROM THIS TINY LIGHT.
I TRY TO RATIONALIZE TO PERFECTLY
LOGICAL, TO BE ABLE TO SEE FOR MYSELF
A (THAT) SUPERNATURAL BEING.
IS HE HIDING FROM MY UNBELIEF, JUST
WAITING UPON SOME POSITIVE FAITH,
THAT THO, NOT SEEING BUT BELIEVING.
THOUGH I MEDITATE, I STUDY, I TOIL
FOR KNOWLEDGE, FORMAL SCIENCE TO COMMAND
BUT AS I PAUSE IN MY EFFORTS, I MUST BEGRUDGINGLY
ADMIT ALL LABOR, ALL EFFORT, ALL KNOWLEDGE, ALL POWER
REST IN THOSE NAIL SCARRED HANDS

Sands of Time
Life has its ups and life also has its downs,
We move forward and backward, Sometimes with each breeze.
But we're not carousels going round and round,
Neither should we be easily moved as leaves up on the trees.
God forbid my standing idly by and not doing the very best I can,
While the world passes me by, and the " Sands of Time" slip through my hands.
I often strive to find a reason for the way things seem to go, so wrong,
and I usually find I'm the center of that problem,
and have been all along.
But deliver me from the attitude that I'm the only bad luck man,
and neglect an unfortunate Brother,
While the "Sands of Time", slip through my hands.
Let me always keep my wits about me and not to languish and linger,
Missing opportunities to serve, on the right and on my left,
While the shifting "Sands of Time"
slip through my fingers.
Take the time to hear the story of an unfortunate, facing life's defeat,
His whole future may depend on you,
Please do not let his, Life's "Sands of Times" go by your impatient feet.
It only takes a small moment of your eternity, your time,
to lift someone who's fallen, under life's strife, a simple lift, a tug,
you may have him on his way in no time, and halt the fleeting "Sands of Time" in this man's
life.
A smile, a soft spoken word of kindness, in a moment of trouble or pain, may save a soul
from destruction,
in this impatient world of get and gain.
Give a little, bend a little,
your time is not your own,
it belongs to a needy sister, and
the shifting, sifting, "Sands of Time" go on and on.

lancessoulsearching: Do we perhaps fear that the darkness may never subside?
A pink glow in the sky, hints at a new day adorning.
Of new life, new opportunity, new promise with the coming of morning;
With the rest for our bodies, The refreshing of our minds
Gives rise to hope, to optimism, in a supreme being; life vital signs.
As we lay our bodies down to obtain the sleep we need.
A vague uneasiness creeps into our thoughts, oh to be freed!
From where does this darkness come, to bring it's doubt and fear.
Causing the light to flee , leaving manmade light to cheer.
Where does this darkness hide when it goes before the sun,
To return when light is fleeing and the cares of the day is done?
It flees to canverns dismal and unlit valleys blind,
to play hide and seek in secret recesses of vain men's minds
just what is there about darkness that chills the optimism,
which always seems to fade with the dusk?
Do we perhaps fear that the darkness may never subside?
