Prayer To Control Anger

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.

Ephesians 4:26

Anger makes you smaller, while forgiveness forces you to grow beyond what you are.
Cherie Carter-Scott

I beg you,
Heavenly Father,

to help me to be slower to anger than I am now,

to stop lashing out at others with harsh and angry words and if I do,

to seek their forgiveness immediately,
to be quick to forgive.

In Your Son's name,

Amen

There is anger at others, but the most pervasive is anger and unforgiveness toward self. This is where parents have such a key role to healing children. I have tried to follow Paul's statement in my marriage, but sometimes the anger is so deep, because it isn't about us but about the lives we led before we knew each other. How do you stop feeling angry for who you are, even when you know God created you? Words become platitudes when your heart cannot see the love God has for you.

Controlling anger is one of the hardest things a person has to learn how to do. Anger can be so hurtful, you should try and not hang on to the anger because it can eat away at you so much, go for a walk instead of getting angry look at the birds in the park, smell the roses, hug your animals, these are god's creatures that have unconditional love for the human race and can teach you to love yourself.

What a beautiful prayer Lance. thanks for sharing it with us.

Anger is a hard thing to control. I still adhere to my old custom of repeating"Get thee behind me Satan in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord."

That usually works for me. Just recently I have started to leaving communities that thrive on anger, wrath and war.

It is sad to think that so many live each day filled with so much hurt and anger.

it was so good to drop by and hear from you.

God bless to your and yours!!:-)

Anger is an emotion which invites us to revisit the power of love. Some people are prompted to explore love more deeply, differently, when they experience opposite feelings. It is an invitation to learn to work through and dissolve them.

What a beautiful prayer Lance. Thank you for sharing it.

Life is so much easier when we live a life short on anger. When we forgive ourselves for not being perfect, it is so much easier to forgive others for their imperfectness. And, subdue our anger toward their mistakes.

CONGRATULATIONS on receiving the Flowers of Friendship Award, friend. You are so deserving!!!
